
Jolene Thompson has been with AMP since 1990 and currently serves as senior vice president of member services and external affairs. She also serves as the executive director of the Ohio Municipal Electric Association (OMEA), the legislative liaison to AMP and Ohio’s municipal electric systems.
Thompson has been active with the American Public Power Association (APPA), previously serving as chair of the Advisory Committee. She is a former member of the APPA Board of Directors and Executive Committee. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Otterbein College.
Thompson headed up permitting and regulatory efforts on the proposed American Municipal Power Generating Station project and is supervising public relations activities for all of the generation projects AMP currently has under development.
As senior vice president of member services and external affairs, Thompson provides oversight to AMP's energy policy and sustainability, government affairs, technical services, environmental compliance, energy efficiency, key accounts/business development, communications, and human resources and safety services.
